Your care team is led by fellowship-trained, board-certified gynecologic oncologists who work closely with your gynecologist and radiation and medical oncologists to provide comprehensive, integrated care.
Advanced surgical treatment options: Surgery is the most common treatment for GYN cancer. Our expert surgeons provide minimally invasive and robotic surgery options. When robotic surgery is feasible, it provides faster recovery, lower risk of infection, and less pain and scarring.
Experienced pelvic health specialists: Urinary incontinence and pain with sex are common in women with gynecologic cancer. We can connect you with Virtua’s female pelvic medicine team who can help you return to optimal function, comfort, and activity. In addition, our sexual wellness and pelvic health experts provide specialized care to support your physical and emotional health and help restore your sexual wellbeing.
Dedicated oncology nurse navigation: Your oncology nurse navigator provides personalized support before, during and after cancer treatment to help you understand your diagnosis, streamline communications and scheduling, and connect you to supportive services.

We’ll help you navigate the changes you may experience with services that include help with hair loss, symptom management, pelvic floor therapy, support groups, and more.

We’re constantly working to improve treatments through clinical trials. If you choose to participate in a trial, you may have access to a promising new therapy before it’s widely available. We lead studies on immunotherapy drugs that attack the cancer cells in your body. And we investigate medications that target specific genetic mutations associated with several cancers.

Virtua gynecologic oncologists train physician residents in Virtua’s OB/GYN residency program. In addition to sharing their medical and surgical expertise in GYN oncology, they’re also preparing residents to provide competent, evidence-based care to all women and cultivate an environment of collaboration, communication, and safety with other providers.
